Pearl is a highly motivated and dynamic Information Security and IT Risk Management and Governance professional with over 14 years of working experience in the field of IT advisory, security audits, risk management and compliance.

She has led and managed the roll out of information security and cyber related risk and governance initiatives for organisations with complex structures, operating in multiple jurisdictions both in South Africa and the rest of Africa.

Her career journey started in IT Audit and Advisory at the one of the big 4 Audit firms before she found her passion in IT and Information Security Risk and Governance Management. She spent a significant number of years working in and with many African markets and teams. Pearl’s  passion, experience and knowledge of the African markets combined with proven leadership, communication and organisational skills bring about a fresh view on designing practical risk management solutions.

Below is some of her experience:

• Under the auspices of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), she led the establishment of an Information Security Governance and Risk Management function for a multinational organisation working with a network of IT resources across Africa, in carrying out information security responsibilities.
• Set up IT Governance or Information Security  strategies, implementation of IS programmes, managing teams, reporting and embedding a risk aware culture.
• Managed and led IT governance function for teams across Africa sharing her expertise in mitigating risk and ensuring alignment to group risk management programmes, COBIT implementation,  IT change management, billing system reconciliation, etc.
• Developed and rolled out IT governance frameworks, policies, procedures and awareness programmes.

Through her travel and work experience in various jurisdictions, Pearl has been exposed and has developed a deep appreciation for different cultures, nature and ways – to this she attributes her ability and passion for working with people and different team dynamics.
